10 Things We Did Not Know About Alesha Nicole Nicholson

Alesha Nicole Nicholson is currently one of Jamaica's leading personalities taking the London subcultural entertainment and nightclub scene by storm. The sassy young lass first got her taste for the dramatic life on the edge when she worked at Hedonism III in Runaway Bay, St Ann. There, she learnt that many barks are worse than the supposed bite as the reputation the resort had for debauchery was more fantasy than reality.

It's the lessons she learnt while working there that now see her as an entrepreneur, identifying fantasies, branding them and marketing them to those who like living on the edge and avoiding the humbug of a proscribed life.

It has been said of her that she suffers from 'Wanderlust', which makes her identify with those who endure the same thirst for adventure and the desire to be constantly exploring new worlds and boundaries!

Outlook Magazine recently caught up with her on her recent visit to the island. Today, we share 10 things not previously known about the sultry but dynamic performer and CEO, who has been dancing to the beat of her own drum from her teens.

1.She was born in Yallahs, St Thomas, but now travels the world as a muse and performance artiste. She works as the CEO of BlissTropics - a United Kingdom-based entertainment and media entity that promotes Jamaican holiday adventures, music, food and entertainment!

2.She dresses, depending on her mood, day or night, and not for convention, and wears a new article of fashion each day.

3. She has posed for nude life drawings for art schools and galleries across the UK and Europe.

4. She has always dreamed of being a surgeon - "to hold a heart in my hands and even bring it back to life," but says her ideal job would be that of a street cleaner because she likes the anonymity that comes with the job, as most people walk by them everyday without ever giving them her a second thought!

5. Her one regret in life so far? "Before Alexander McQueen passed, he asked me to be his muse, but I didn't take him up on the offer. I was young and stupid because I thought I would have time to meet him on my own terms."

6. Strongly believes in the here and now and so she invests heavily in the now by making the most of it instead of hoping for some promised nirvana.

7. Is a foodie and lists food as one of her all-time great passions and says she probably loves food more than anything else in the world. "Give me a British Sunday roast with icy cold champagne or an icy cold beer and I'm in heaven".

8. Her all-time and absolute favourite fruit is naseberry.

9.She dreams of getting it right to be able to give back, and generously to her community and others, as this, she believes, is our essential duty as humans - to care for each other!

10. Says she loves shopping for lingerie but hardly ever wears it.
