WESTERN BUREAU:A challenging obstacle course, river tubing, zip lining, an aviary, two swimming pools, kiddies' playground, topped by an adults-only Appleton Rum tasting bar, are among the host of activities that differentiate 'Chukka at Good Hope' as the best option this holiday season. The local attraction has outdone itself with offerings that wow families, friends and co-workers looking for the ideal fun day venue.

Last Sunday, The Outlook team visited the Trelawny property for a welcome-home party for Kelley Wates, and it proved the first paragraph of this article true. She hosted more than 100 friends at her 'return to the Jamaican local soil' party.

Little did Wates know that her celebratory event would have been complemented by two other parties, held for five and 13-year-olds, Zion and Elijah Bertram-Levy, and 10-year-old Sam Melville.

Three parties in one venue was an easy feat, as Chukka at Good Hope offers the option of getting lost in its 2,000 acres of lushness.

Dating back to the 18th century, Chukka at Good Hope offers scenic views and access to the majestic Martha Brae River.

"From zip line adventures to river tubing and estate tours via horse and carriage, Chukka's Adventure Estate offers an unrivalled variety of experiences," boasted Daniel Melville, marketing manager at the attraction.

The recent expansion made by the award-winning team sees them providing more activities for multi-generational families, including grandparents and children. It includes a challenge course at the estate's nature park, a 9,000-square-foot aviary of indigenous birds, swimming pools, children's play area, and a colonial village.

Chukka partnered with three Jamaican brands - Appleton Rum, Jablum Coffee, and Walkerswood Jerk Seasoning - to create the colonial village, where guests can see, smell, touch and taste many unique locally manufactured products.

The Outlook team spotted former government minister, Arnold Bertram and his wife Claire, their daughter Gillian Bertram, former heavyweight champ, Lennox Lewis and his wife, Violet, Miss Jamaica Universe Kerrie Baylis, Tony and Sheila Hart, Ian and Carla Dear, William and Candace Craig, Richard and Abiola Bertram, Jordan and Christina Samuda, and Martine Fontaine.
