The season of cocktails is here when we drink and be merry. Today, being Boxing Day, many persons will be visiting family and friends as part of the season's traditions. How about giving them a taste of something different?

There are many wonderful cocktails that are a perfect fit for the season. So whether you want to wow guests with some mixology magic, or just thrill them with a festive drink, Food has done all the leg work and has some great simple cocktails for you and your guests to enjoy. No prerequisite skills are required and we have both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, so do enjoy!

Ingredients

2oz Appleton Estate V/X Jamaica Rum

2oz freshly made sorrel

2oz freshly squeezed orange juice

Method

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker over ice and shake vigorously. Pour into a cocktail glass and garnish with a slice of orange.

Method

Fill a tall Collins glass with ice

Add 1.5oz of gin

Fill and top with Pure Country Christmas Sorrel and serve.

Ingredients

11/2oz Skyy Vodka

1/2oz Triple Sec

1/2oz pineapple juice

1/2oz simple syrup

1/4oz lime juice

Method

Add all ingredients to a shaker filled with ice. Shake

and serve in a Martini glass. Garnish with pineapple and cherry

Ingredients

2oz Whisky

1/2oz Cocktail syrup

1oz Pure Country tamarind juice

Method

Combine all ingredients in a shaker over ice and serve.

2oz Vodka

1oz Pure Country Orange Juice

1oz Pure Country Cranberry

3/4oz lemon juice

3 levelled tablespoons of sugar

SweetWorld's Pina Colada Chiller

Ingredients

7oz pineapple juice

2oz coconut cream/Pina Colada mixer

1oz cream of coconut

1 cup party ice

Method

Add the pineapple juice, coconut cream or Pina Colada mixer, Cream of Coconut and party ice to a blender.

Blend at high speed. Pour into a Collins glass and garnish with a maraschino cherry, lime wedges or a pineapple wedge, and serve.

Ingredients

1 cup fresh lemon/lime juice

1 cup granulated sugar or 1/4cup simple syrup (Bolied granulated sugar)

1 cup party ice/6 ice cubes

3 tablespoons Blue Curaco Syrup

1 lime/lemon wedge for garnish

1/4 cup water

Method

Pour Blue Curaco Syrup, lemon/lime juice and sugar/simple syrup into blender. Add ice and water and blend on high speed until slushy.

Serve well in a highball glass.

Enjoy and drink slowly!
