Egging it! Sonic Steppers hosts Smart Eggs Sunday brunch
Healthy eating means consuming the right quantities of foods from all food groups in order to lead a healthy life. But this has to be coupled with a good exercise regime to help us live strong, healthy, wholesome lives. One such group that has taken up the mandate of introducing a healthy lifestyle to normal people is the Sonic Steppers Running Club, and last week, the group teamed up with Smart Eggs to host a lifestyle brunch at the Long Mountain Country Club. Hostess Patricia Henry, financial controller at Intcomex, treated the members to a healthy spread consisting of hard-boiled eggs, baked eggs with potatoes and cheddar, baked eggs casserole, callaloo, sautéed chorizo sausage with onions, garlic, fresh rosemary, fresh bell peppers and hash brown triple potatoes.
Before the delectable spread was served, the Steppers participated in a series of activities, including a 3.5K run at the UWI Mona Bowl, an hourlong boot camp session, and then a few laps in the pool at the Long Mountain Country Club, after which they feasted in fine style.
A good diet is a nutritional lifestyle that promotes good health, and a good diet must include several food groups; one single group cannot provide everything a human needs for good health. For those who might be pressed for time because of the morning rush, after-work activities and getting all the daily deeds completed, here are quick recipes for two of the meals prepared during last Sunday's Smart Eggs Sonic Steppers brunch.
