WESTERN BUREAU:
Chefs and housewives in western Jamaica can now expect a better experience in the kitchen, thanks to the recent launch of KitchenAid appliances by Courts Jamaica Ltd at its flagship store, located at the Fairview Shopping Centre, Bogue, Montego Bay.
The Gleaner-sponsored event, hosted by Marlene Stephenson-Dalley, proved to be a major drawing card for several Montegonians; who turned out to view the kitchenware and enjoy a three-course meal prepared by three of the western region's most acclaimed executive chefs, using a number of KitchenAid appliances.
Minister of State in the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Sharon Folkes-Abrahams, who was one of the keynote speakers, complimented both Courts and KitchenAid on their joint venture, noting, "The launch of the KitchenAid Experience Centre is even more important today when the ethos of 'do it yourself' is becoming increasingly attractive."
In attendance, too, were a number of other top business executives, including Dennis Harris, managing director for Courts Jamaica Ltd, and Sasha Stojanov, regional commercial director for KitchenAid.
Another major highlight of the night was in the form of Jamaica's famed cabaret singer, Karen Smith. She delighted patrons with a musical performance accompanied by warm hugs to everyone she encountered as she went around the showroom.
A variety of hors d'oeuvres and drinks was provided throughout the night by Pier One's attentive dining-room staff.
Here are the highlights.
