Bus and truck collide, killing 14

SAO PAULO (AP):

Police say 14 people were killed in a head-on collision between a dump truck and a minibus in northern Brazil.

At least 20 passengers were injured and rushed to nearby hospitals after the accident in the city of Manaus late last Friday.

Citing witnesses, police said the dump truck jumped the road divider and slammed into the oncoming minibus. Witnesses told police the truck driver apparently lost control of the vehicle. Both drivers, as well as a pregnant woman and a baby, were among those killed.
