WESTERN BUREAU:Music reverberated throughout the Hip Strip's Blue Beat last Saturday night (April 5), as the party tagged 'Electric Animal' brought down the house.

Taking a large group of party people hostage, DJ Richard Beynon from Montreal, Canada, and DJs Crazy Neil and Vice, the Jamaicans in the mix dropped some serious bass house music in the confines of a lounge-turned-club.

Renowned as one of the most entertaining and talented DJs on the Montreal circuit, Beynon, who spins at 'Rehab Sundays' at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, in Las Vegas, added the energy, passion and drive he is known for to the electricity that is characteristic of Blue Beat.

About 3:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, Beynon was joined at the turntables by the world's fastest man, Usain Bolt.

The athlete and his 'bestie', Christopher Martin, were playing the role of perfect celebrities, adhering to every request for a photo opportunity.

Photographs aside, the diversity of the music, the group of dancers that Beynon had following him from the Canadian climes, created a mini heat wave known only to happen on the Hip Strip.

Excited about the prospects, Blue Beat's senior marketing manager, André Boswell, noted, "Blue Beat's loyal following has grown over the years (because we deliver) extraordinary nights out with the very best in service, entertainment, and great ambiance. Over the next few weeks, we will be making a huge amount of noise as it relates to nightlife in Jamaica."

He continued, "as we position ourselves for what is anticipated to be a record summer and Christmas showcasing some of the best DJs in Jamaica and around the world".
