Discounts and value buys are a shopper's dream, but when you have made a purchase and you know you got something of the highest quality at the best price, you feel a sense of pride, euphoria and sweet satisfaction.

This is what Hi-Lo Food Stores offer every Thursday in all their 14 locations - the highest quality with a whopping discount of 20 per cent on all produce. Not only are these items discounted, but the stores are transformed into a traditional market scene, filled with fresh produce - tomatoes, sweet potatoes, ripe and green bananas, ginger, scallion and thyme.

They also offer everyday great prices on your favourite grocery brands. Hi-Lo also has its own brand, with a wide range of basic items that allow the consumer to tailor budgets that will ensure a full weekly basket. CEO of Hi-Lo, Omar Barrientos, notes, "At Hi-Lo, we ensure that we maintain our value proposition to Jamaica: to offer value, good prices and consistent programmes that promote savings for the consumer. In addition, we have ensured that all items are moving from the farm to your table, so on a Thursday, you are guaranteed fresh items, with the best prices from us."

Accessible islandwide

With 14 locations across the island and convenient opening hours, all Jamaicans are able to access their discounted ground provisions at Hi-Lo's Farmers' Market with the 'bend-down' market prices. You can find your Hi-Lo supermarkets in Kingston & St Andrew at Manor Park, Barbican, Cross Roads, Pavilion Mall, UWI Mona Campus, in St Catherine at Portmore Pines Plaza, and LOJ Plaza in Spanish Town. Other stores are located in St James on Church Street and in Fairview Shopping Complex. There are also stores in Port Maria, Ocho Rios, Mandeville, and two locations in Negril - one at Sunshine Plaza and Value Master store.
