Miss Beaches Negril set for April 25
Twelve young ladies from various departments at the Beaches Negril resort will on April 25 vie for the Miss Beaches Negril Talent and Awareness 2014 crown.
The pageant will be held at the Beaches hotspot under the theme 'Women destined to do great things'.
The competition was re-introduced through the Beaches Sports and Social Club in 2013.
As part of the activities leading up to the pageant, the participants have been groomed in public speaking, etiquette, appearance and decorum, which will form a pivotal part of their development. They have also participated in community outreach projects.
The contestants in this year's pageant are Caveen Reddie, Tashagay Lewis, Diana Morris, Mitsy Dyer, Genette Murray, Asha Randall, Stacy-Ann Watson, Vennesia Bennett, Monique Patterson, Shaneka James, Shellydean Bartley and Samantha Hamilton.
The winner will receive a scholarship from the Sandals Corporate University, $25,000 cash, appliances and a five-night/six-day stay at any local Sandals or Beaches resort.
Sponsors of the competition are Tolani Brothers, Silver Bird Steel Band, Sound Illusion Entertainment, Emergency Ground Ambulance Service, Uzuri International, Margaritaville Negril, Seashli Entertainment, J. Albert Distributors, Quality Signs, Maxi Press, Transwest, Island Routes Caribbean Adventures, JUTA Negril, Isacar Services, Ravina Impex, Tai Flora Services and Beverley Corke Personal and Professional Development Centre.
The show will get under way at 7 p.m. and will feature a live performance by I-Octane. Pre-sold tickets are currently available at the resort's sales office for $800 each, while admission at the gate will be $1,000.
