Rise Up rum, fun and sun
Ocho Rios remained a staple that did not disappoint for many who decided to head outside of Kingston for the Easter weekend. The weekend kick-started with the Rise Up Breakfast party which started at 4 a.m. Saturday.
When patrons got to the venue they were greeted with a great selection of food, but most of the patrons really started rolling in closer to 6 a.m. to witness the sunrise. With the sun now scorching hot, the intensity was matched by Jazzy T, who kept the vibe high. This vibe at that early hour in the morning set the pace for Smirnoff Bacchanal Beach J'Ouvert.
The following day, it was all about the Sun Rum Fun carnival cooler cruise hosted by Trini Jungle Juice in association with Bacchanal Jamaica. For its first staging, the promoters received well over 170 patrons who had the cool runnings boat crew busy giving out jungle juice shots. With Appleton on board, the patrons were protected from the harsh rays of the sun as they each received sunglasses. The catamran set sail minutes after 11 a.m. and continued for five hours with a lovely and refreshing 30-minute swim just off the shore of Prospect, St Mary.
The food was delectable and coupled with the musical selection from Dei musicale and Richie Ras, the patrons were in total soca frenzy. The party later continued on the Upper Deck and patrons were left feeling satisfied as the first-ever Sun Rum Fun cruise was a success. There were patrons present from the Cayman Islands, USA, England, and Trinidad.
