Amanda Perry aims to please

WESTERN BUREAU:Amanda Perry is one of the many Jamaicans providing exceptional customer service to clients who patronise her place of employment.

Perry is a customer service representative (CSR) for Domino's Pizza, located at Fairview Shopping Centre in Bogue, Montego Bay.

The soft spoken and unassuming CSR has developed a good reputation for her customer service skills, which has resulted in many pizza-loving Montegonians talking about her.

"There should be an Amanda Perry at the forefront of every Jamaican organisation, because she epitomises every bit of what great customer service is," Melissa Brown, one of Perry's many admirers in the Second City told Western Focus.

But Perry insists that she is simply "doing my job".

"I have worked extensively in customer oriented jobs throughout my life, and what that has taught me is that customers are the lifeblood of a business," she said. "I firmly believe in providing the best customer service to each and every customer, and, thankfully, Domino's provides a great framework of support that allows me and my colleagues to do this."

Described as a great communicator who is both patient and respectful, Perry's flair for customer service has also caught the attention of her branch manager, Charmaine Palmer, who confirmed that she envisions a bright future for the budding CSR at Domino's Pizza.

"Amanda is a customer-focused person. She ensures that she is always meeting and exceeding the needs of the customer, always making certain that whatever the customer orders is what they get; I can definitely see her progressing at Domino's," Palmer said.

Responsibility to assist

True to her beliefs, Perry is keen on greeting customers with a smile or a welcoming voice over the telephone. This is followed up with courteous questions on how she can be of assistance.

"When the customers tell me what they require, I have a responsibility to try and assist them in the best and fastest way possible ... . Persons are on the go, so they need to come in get what they want as quickly as possible, providing their orders are perfect and done to their specifications," she said.

She commends Palmer for her leadership qualities, claiming she is someone that can always be relied on.

"What keeps me going is our manager, Miss Charmaine Palmer. She is a very stern. But whenever I make a mistake, she takes me aside and respectfully points out where I have gone wrong ... she's always available to offer assistance, and being around her, knowing that I have someone I can rely on, is a very strong background for me," Perry said.
