WESTERN BUREAU:

While the country's capital was engrossed in carnival fever two weekends ago (April 24-26), our Second City of Montego Bay had palates revelling. Food aficionados were out in their numbers. It was the place to be for mouth-watering and titillating gourmet food, as Jamaicans and Indian chefs combined their talents to highlight the creativity of the their gastronomic offerings.

Montego Bay's El Greco Resort relaunched its Sea View Restaurant, showcasing a brand new menu. The restaurant has gone bilingual, adding the exciting Jamaican Patois to all its dishes.

On Thursday night, Executive Chef Omar Jackson enticed his guest with cocktails, live performances and a scrumptious menu, which included 'Mek Wi Flex', a combination of lobster, shrimp and scallops.

Over at Mystic India, they reinvented the way they present their Sunday Brunch. Kareena Mahbubani presented a buffet-style live station of foods found all over India that had palates rejoicing. Here is a round-up of what western Jamaica was up to.
