John Rollins Success Primary celebrates 10th anniversary
The John Rollins Success Primary School in Rose Hall, St James, will stage a weeklong celebration this week to mark its 10th year of operations.
The celebrations get under way tomorrow with a church service at the St. James Parish Church at 7:30 a.m. On Monday, a Boys' Expo will be staged at the school, with an emphasis on boys, who are being encouraged to maximise their full potential.
On Tuesday, May 27, the school will host a community health fair, which will see a range of health-care professionals on site offering free medical services throughout the day. Services will include general medical, immunisation, optical, dental, HIV counselling and testing, as well as cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure tests.
Nutritional information and cooking demonstrations will also be conducted by Grace Kitchens.
An Open Day will be staged on Wednesday, followed by the institution's 10th Anniversary Concert on Thursday, May 29, where the students' talent in dance, song, drama, and speech will be on show at the Hollis Lynch Hall, in Westgate, Montego Bay, at 6 p.m. Persons are invited to come out and support these and other activities planned for this week.
"Despite the challenges, we have achieved much over the 10 years, and we are proud of the partnerships we have formed over these years with the Ministry of Education, the community and corporate entities which have contributed to our development. We continue on our quest for excellence," said principal of the school, Yvonne Miller Wisdom.
