The Global Escape

All roads led to Grizzly's Plantation Cove in St Ann for the second annual 'foodie' culinary experience, Jamaica Epicurean Escape. The two-day and night event, which took place last weekend, May 24-25, lived up to their promise of providing scrumptious food, family fun, and diverse entertainment.

The spacious venue transcended palatable heights, and those expecting fun in the sun on the first day experienced splashes of raindrops. Despite the showers of blessings, sweet aromas still penetrated the air, greeting food lovers who looked forward to whetting and satisfying their insatiable appetites.

Saturday, deemed 'Global', featured delicious international cuisine from the likes of Goddard Catering Group (GCG) Events, Jacqui Tyson's From Thought
to Finish, Jahmento Productions, Jewel Resorts and Spa, among many
others. The family event boasted a 'Fun Yard', sponsored by Sagicor
Jamaica, with rides provided by Rainbow Land where they could be left to
indulge in play while parents were given a chance to roam the different
booths and feast on the various delicacies.

While
patrons pampered their palates, they were treated to live entertainment
from songstress Susan Couch, Rising Stars winners One Third,
International singer Melba Moore, and Jamaican crooner Half
Pint.

The Caribbean Escape

Day Two
was even livelier as the skies gave way to sunshine. Patrons were given
the opportunity to further excite their taste buds and explore delicious
Caribbean themed dishes. Dishes ranged from islands such as Trinidad,
Barbados, Guyana, and, naturally, Jamaica.

A few
booths that stood out include Café Africa, Lyming at Walkers Wood, NCR
Sheep Limited, Great House Caterers, Right Choice Café, Banyan Catering,
and I'd Rather Fall in Chocolate.

Both days saw live
cooking demonstrations from local and international chefs, namely
International Celebrity Chef Ted Readers and Jamaican Chef Brian Lumley,
among many others, who had their audience actively engaged in the
cooking process and indulging in the final products. Entertainment for
that evening came from the soulful Trevelle, songwriter and performer
Bryan Hart, and musician Reajhaune Baptiste, closing the night and the
food festival. Enjoy as Outlook takes you on a truly
unforgettable culinary experience.
