1 In My Father's Footsteps. Fathers aren't celebrated with the same reverential fervour in popular culture, so we were hard-pressed to find enough songs for a playlist to mark Father's Day. Instead, we've decided to focus on some of Jamaica's famous dads and the legacies they have built or left behind for their children, along with one legacy-in-the-making that we're keeping our eye on.

3 Net International Reserves Continues to Dip - May 2014. According to the latest available data from the Bank of Jamaica, as at the end of May 2014, Jamaica's NIR fell by US$120 million to US$1,164.77 million. This was mainly because of a US$204-million decline in foreign assets.

4 Industry Update - Tourist Arrivals for March. Stopover arrivals were down 5.8 per cent, while cruise ship arrivals were up 0.8 per cent.

5 The US Celebrates Caribbean American Heritage Month. diGJamaica will be engaging members of the Jamaican diaspora and marking Caribbean American Heritage Month all month long with a number of specials. Keep checking digjamaica.com/diaspora.

6 Remittances up in February. Gross remittances for February 2014 were US$168 million, an increase of US$8.2 million, or 5.1 per cent, relative to the corresponding period of 2013 (Feb).

7 It Has Been A Year - Images Highlighting 1st Year of the IMF Programme. Jamaica entered into a four-year extended fund facility agreement with the IMF in May 2013. The country has successfully passed four quarterly reviews.
