Callaloo

Montego Bay's Charles Gordon Market will charge $50 for a bundle of callaloo this week. Most rural retail outlets, including downtown Kingston, will charge $40 per bundle.

Green Bananas

Most rural markets will offer green bananas at a price range of $80-$100 per dozen. This price also holds true for Montego Bay's Charles Gordon Market. Less-expensive outlets in downtown Kingston will charge $50 per dozen.

Beef Stew

This week you can get the cut for $180 per pound at most butcher stalls and meat shops across the island. However, supermarkets will charge as much as $360 for a pound of beef stew this week.

Ginger

This exotic spice is readily available in markets across the island this week. Markets in May Pen currently have a price range of $100 to $120 per pound. They also have smaller packages wrapped in plastic for $50 each.

Cheaper outlets in downtown Kingston will ask as little as $60 per pound this week.
