The aroma that greets the nostrils as you pass Grant's Jerk Centre is indeed an indicator that something special is being cooked on the open fire.

This jerk oasis is located on the Ewarton main road near Byndloss in St Catherine. When Food visited the location, there was no shortage of jerked goodness, including jerked pork, chicken and sausages.

These mouth-watering offerings are served with a choice of sweet potato, roasted breadfruit, plantain and festivals.

The 14-year-old eatery is jointly operated by Nicola Taffe, Madge and Karen Grant, Carlington Grandison and Heron DaCosta.

"We are very pleased to be able to feed so many customers on a daily basis," Taffe told Food. "We are known for our great taste and good customer relationship."

While at the venue, a number of regular customers came by to get their jerk fix. The consensus was that it was all good at Grant's Jerk, which has been soothing the palates of many for years.
