WESTERN BUREAU:

With five months still left in 2014, Digicel and Secrets Resorts have succeeded in hosting the party of the year in western Jamaica.

The more than 1,000 party people who responded to the event tagged 'Opulence' will tell you how lavish, luxurious, magnificent and affluent this event was. In fact, any party staged after last Saturday's poolside event will have to 'come good' to walk in the footprints left by DJs Smoke and Kamal Bankay.

Now in its second year, the numbers have tripled and the women came out more fabulously attired while the men were like sweet eye candy.

Digicel and Secrets seem to have mastered the art of hosting such stellar events. This was evidenced two years ago when they partnered with Neyo to host Compound Island. Obviously, not needing a big name to attract bigwig movers and shakers, the two hosted this particular 'by invitation only' VIP event.

"Historically, we would host our top corporate people, media and other key stakeholders in our VIP booth at Reggae Sumfest, but, as of last year, we decided to forego that booth at the festival and instead treat our guests to a VIP all-inclusive party in Montego Bay," explains Tahnida Nunes, senior sponsorship manager at
Digicel.

For her, this is the perfect opportunity,
with pretty much everyone being in Montego Bay for the Reggae Sumfest
weekend, "to say thanks to our partners, clients and media while also
forging stronger relationships with them".

Again, the
synergy of sponsors continued this year with the Wray & Nephew
group, which included Moet, Appleton, as well as Wray & Nephew
Rum, Red Stripe, Hamilton Smoke House, Caribbean Producers Jamaica,
Select Brands, Pepsi, Pure Country, Coffee Traders, and Rainforest
Seafoods.

Making a cameo appearance at the poolside
event this year were International Night II artistes, Future, Tessanne
Chin, Agent Sasco, Wayne Marshall, and Tami
Chynn.
