RUBiS launched officially
RUBiS Energy Jamaica Ltd recently hosted a cocktail reception at the Terra Nova All Suite Hotel, Waterloo Road, St Andrew, to officially launch the brand in Jamaica.
RUBiS has upgraded and refurbished its service station network, introducing a new look and LED lighting, as well as upgrading safety measures. RUBiS has also introduced digital price boards.
Doing an 'Introduction to the RUBiS Group', Maurico Nicholls, CEO, RUBiS Energy Caribbean, explained that RUBiS, an international company listed on the French Stock Exchange, has been in operation since 1990. "Our operations are well established in Europe and Africa, and since 2005, we have undergone rapid expansion across the Caribbean to now include 17 Caribbean territories. Jamaica is the single largest operation and extremely significant for the group," Nicholls said.
double digit growth
Minister of Science, Technology, Energy and Mining Philip Paulwell said, "RUBiS is a good investment for Jamaica. The company means business."
RUBiS' commitment to Jamaica was further supported by Raymond Samuels, retail manager for RUBiS Jamaica, who introduced RUBiS' launch advertising campaign. 'The Fuel the RUBiS Difference' TV commercial was developed in Jamaica, using local talents and resources, Samuels said.
Two new initiatives, the RUBiS Mercenat Cultural Foundation and the RUBiS Building Communities Dealer Programme, were announced. In partnership with international artists, the Cultural Foundation works with local subsidiaries to develop humanitarian and cultural projects, especially in disadvantaged communities, by teaching and exposing youngsters to the arts.
working relationships
RUBiS is establishing working relationships with Jamaican schools to create and manage visual arts workshops, from which the most promising students will have an opportunity to obtain a scholarship to the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts.
The RUBiS Building Communities Programme partners with the company's dealer network to reach out to local communities within their respective parishes. RUBiS will co-fund and support projects that provide sustainable development, with a view to improving the environment and the lives of those Jamaicans living in communities in close proximity to their service stations.
