New Zealand cricket officials will visit Sri Lanka later this month to assess security arrangements for a scheduled tour starting in August.

The delegation, which will travel to Sri Lanka on June 29, will comprise New Zealand Cricket\'s Geoff Allott, Players\' Association boss Heath Mills and an independent security adviser.

An itinerary for the New Zealand tour, which will include two tests, five limited-overs internationals and two 20/20 internationals between August 13 and September 19 was released yesterday.

Allott says a security appraisal was a necessary step in the light of recent terrorist attacks in India and Pakistan, notably an attack on the Sri Lankan team at Lahore in March.
