Spain beat Iraq
Spain have earned their record-tying 14th straight win and a spot in the Confederations Cup semifinals by beating Iraq 1-0 today in South Africa.
David Villa slipped between two defenders and beat Iraq goalkeeper Mohammed Kassid for the only goal of the match in the 55th minute.
Spain now lead the group with six points, while Iraq are still without a point.
Meanwhile, the competition continues tomorrow with Brazil facing the United States.
Brazil edged Egypt with a last-minute penalty kick in their opener, and another victory will secure the defending champions a spot in the next stage.
The Americans will be hoping for an upset just to get back into contention.
Brazil and Italy lead Group B with three points each, while the United States and Egypt have zero.
