The Education Minister in Barbados wants to see improvements in the country’s education sector despite what he describes as its proud record of academic accomplishment.
Ronald Jones says he’s not convinced that Barbados is making the best use of its available skills pool and human resource potential.
The minister is attending the 17th Conference of Commonwealth Ministers of Education.
The meeting is focused on fulfilling the United Nations Millennium Development Goal of providing universal primary access to schools by 2015.
He says he will make sure emphasis is placed on Barbados’ curriculum development over the next three to four years.
