Update: Bolt win in 9.77 seconds

Beijing Olympics triple gold medallist Usain Bolt of Jamaica stormed to the fastest 100 metres in the world this year with a breathtaking performance of 9.77 seconds at the Ostrava Golden Spike Grand Prix in Czech Republic today.



However, the wind was a fraction over the legal limit and a result the meet record of 9.85 which fellow countryman Asafa Powell set at the venue four years ago stands.



Bolt cruised to victory ahead of Britain\'s Craig Pickering, who finished well behind in 10.08. Ronald Pogon of France was third in 10.17.



Jamaica secured another victory through Delloreen Ennis-London who won the women’s 100-metre hurdles in 12.79 seconds ahead of double world champion Michelle Perry of the United States. Perry clocked 12.86.



Jamaican Nickel Ashmeade finished third in the men’s 200 metres in 20.72. Paul Hession of Ireland won the race in 20.44. Xavier Brown of Jamaica was seventh in 20.96.



In the men’s 400 metres, Gregory Little of Jamaica was eighth in 52.59 to American winner Bershawn Jackson, who clocked 48.32.
