Iran Opposition continues election protests
Thousands of Iranians gathered today again in Tehran\'s Haft-e-Tir Square to protest in support of opposition leader Mir Hossein Moussavi.
Moussavi yesterday dismissed a move by Iran\'s Guardian Council to hold a partial recount of last Friday’s election results.
The elections saw President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad beating Moussavi by a comfortable margin.
Since then at least seven people have died in daily protests which have disrupted life in the Iranian capital.
Authorities in Tehran have also banned international journalists from broadcasting the rallies and blocked access to social networking sites.
The scale of the protests is said to be the worst seen in the country since a 1979 revolution.
The country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is to deliver a sermon on Friday highlighting how the government plans to resolve the protests.
