Bermuda governor urges gov to consider next step in row with Britain

Bermuda governor Sir Richard Gozney has told the government to consider carefully its next steps as a row over the re-settlement of four Chinese Muslim Uighurs without Britain’s knowledge continues unabated.

But Sir Richard told a news conference yesterday that the four men should not go back to the camp at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.

However, he would not divulge other options available to the former terror suspects.

The four spent seven years at the detention facility despite twice being cleared of being enemy combatants.

US President Barack Obama has said he wants to close the camp by next year and has been looking for countries to take in the remaining detainees.
