Pakistan against South Africa in semi final
Pakistan, choosing to bat after winning the toss, were 56 for two after eight overs against South Africa in the first semi-final of the 20/20 World Cup at Trent Bridge in England.
Both openers are back in the pavilion.
Kamran Akmal was caught by Albie Morkel off the bowling of Dale Steyn for 23 off 12 balls, while Shahzaib Hasan was caught by Roelof van der Merwe off the bowling of Wayne Parnell without scoring.
West Indies will meet Sri Lanka in the second semi-final tomorrow at The Oval, starting at 11.30 a.m. Jamaica time.
Meanwhile, in the first match at Trent Bridge, New Zealand skipper Aimee Watkins scored an unbeaten 89 to lead her team to a 52-run victory over India in the semi-finals of the Women’s 20/20 World Cup.
Watkins hit her runs off 58 balls to lead New Zealand to 145 for five and India never threatened to chase it, finishing on 93 for nine.
England will face Australia in the other semi-final at the Oval tomorrow.
