Dominica to reform local government

Dominica said it is moving to reform its local Government system after having the last of three consultations at its Public Service Training Centre.



Acting local government commissioner Claudine Roberts said several weaknesses within the local government system prompted the move to reform.



He also said the local government reform process, which began over 10 years ago, is slow.



But he said that it is important for the process to take time so satisfactory results can be achieved.
