The National Amateur Athletics Association in Trinidad and Tobago is expressing concern over the country’s ability to host the upcoming Pan American Juniors.

There have been concerns over the meet following the sudden cancellation of the inaugural Caribbean Games, which was scheduled to take place in Trinidad and Tobago between July 12 and 19.

Rising fears over the spread of the Influenza ‘A’ H1N1 virus led the health ministry to call off the Caribbean Games.

The Pan American Juniors have been slated to take place two weeks after the Caribbean Games.

However, president of the National Amateur Athletics Association Ephraim Serette says the cancellation of the Caribbean Games will have serious implications on T&T hosting the Pan Am Junior.

A number of countries including powerhouse Jamaica are expected to visit T&T for the Pan American Juniors.
