JAAA gets 3.6 million from Government

Jamaica’s preparation for this summer’s World Championships in Berlin, Germany received a significant boost of $3.6 million dollars from the government.



Minister of Sports Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange made the announcement yesterday.



Minister Grange said the financial help demonstrated the government’s continuing commitment to Jamaican athletes and their development.



The Minister said the money would be used for medical expenses and supplements for athletes.



Also the financial help will also offset coaches’ fees and transportation for athletes.



Minister Grange also asked for support for the National Championships, which will take place this weekend at the National Stadium.
