Woman dies from swine flu in Dom Rep

A 50 year old woman has died of the Influenza A H1N1 virus in the Dominican Republican, becoming the second person to die from the virus in the Caribbean.



The flu, which first appeared in Mexico in April, has infected 108 people in the Dominican Republic.



Argentina has already reported 10 deaths among one thousand 213 people infected with the virus, while the toll in neighboring Chile has grown to seven of four thousand 315 flu cases.



The latest figures from the World Health Organization indicate that the H1N1 virus has affected 52 thousand 160 people in 100 countries and territories, causing 231 deaths.
