The Influenza ‘A’ H1N1 virus fears have forced health officials in Trinidad and Tobago to cancel the Senior Caribbean Squash Championships.

The tournament was scheduled to be contested from August 13 to 24 but will have to find another venue after the Ministry of Health informed the Squash Association that the event could not be staged in the country as a result of the virus.

Health officials say 32 people had already tested positive for the virus.

The move to cancel the games comes less than a week after the inaugural Caribbean Games also had to be abandoned due to the virus.

The tournament is expected to be moved to Guyana, St Vincent and the Grenadines or the Cayman Islands.
