Sarkozy for Caribbean trip

French President Nicolas Sarkozy is to arrive in Martinique today, for a two-day visit to the French Caribbean territories.
This is Pesident Sarkozy’s first trip to the territories since unrests broke out in Martinique and Guadeloupe in March and April.
His trip is aimed at re-establishing ties between France and the territories.
Mr Sarkozy will be accompanied by his Secretary of State for the overseas territories, Marie-Luce Penchard, who is from Guadeloupe.
President Sarkozy is expected to leave Guadeloupe tomorrow.
