Trinidad’s minister of culture and gender affairs, Marlene McDonald says there is no avenue for gay marriage in the country.

She says the Government is opposed to same-sex relationships as expressed in its recently drafted National Gender Policy.

In March, Prime Minister Patrick Manning rejected a call to re-define gender to include gays.

Ms. Mc Donald says Cabinet yesterday accepted the latest draft of the National Gender Policy.

She says it would soon be laid in Parliament as a green paper, open for public comment.
