Three uncapped players in Sri Lanka squad
Sri Lanka’s cricket selectors have included three uncapped players in their 15-man squad for the first cricket Test against visitors Pakistan starting this week.
The Kumar Sangakkara-led squad contains seven specialist batsmen, four seam bowlers, two spinners and an allrounder.
Kaushal Silva was added late to the squad as a specialist wicketkeeper because Prasanna Jayawardena will miss the first Test with an injured finger.
Allrounder Anjelo Mathews, who impressed with bat and ball in the recently concluded 20/20 World Cup in England, has also earned a spot in the Test squad.
Suranga Lakmal, who made the squad to tour Pakistan in March but did not play a game, has also been recalled.
The first test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan starts in Galle on Saturday.
