Jamaica beat the Bahamas in Basketball

Jamaica got an important win over Bahamas on today’s second day of the 2009 Caribbean Basketball Championship in Tortola, British Virgin Islands.
The Jamaicans won the Group ‘B’ game 77-73 to stay on course for a spot in the 2010 Centrobasket Tournament.
The Caribbean Championship qualifies three teams for the Centrobasket tournament.
Oritseweyinmi Efejuku and center Kimani Friend netted 18 points for Jamaica who fell on day one to Trinidad and Tobago 88-76.
Samardo Samuels and Michael Andre Coburn supported with 11 points each.
Alonzo Hinds led Bahamas with 27 points.
The two best teams in each group will qualify for the semifinals to be played on July 3.
Jamaica’s final preliminary match will be against Barbados tomorrow afternoon.
