Women’s semi-finals on today

The Williams sisters could face each other in a Grand Slam final for the eight time when they contest the semi-finals of the Wimbledon Championship in England, starting at 7 a.m.



Third seed Venus Williams, going for her third straight Wimbledon championship, will be up against Number One Dinara Safina.



Serena Williams, seeded Number 2, will face Number 4 Elena Dementieva.



Meanwhile, Roger Federer of Switzerland remains on course for a sixth Wimbledon championship title by dismissing Ivo Karlovic of Croatia in the quarterfinal yesterday.

The five-time champion broke as early as game five with two fabulous returns and went on to win 6-3, 7-5, 7-6.

Federer, seeded Number 2, will now face 24th seed Tommy Haas in the semis tomorrow.

In the other semifinal, Andy Murray and Andy Roddick will face off.
