West Indies prepares for Bangladesh
West Indies will now prepare for the home series against Bangladesh after rain denied the Caribbean team a chance of earning a series draw in the One-Day International matches against India in St Lucia yesterday.
The final match in the series was abandoned at the Beausejour Cricket Ground due to rain.
West Indies had reached 27 for one from 7.3 overs after India won the toss and chose to field before a heavy shower forced a length stoppage.
Captain Chris Gayle was the batsman back in the pavilion without scoring.
Although the rain stopped later, too much water had settled on the outfield, and umpires Clive Duncan and Nigel Llong decided to call off the game after waiting about two hours.
This is the fifth straight One-Day series loss for West Indies.
The impending series against Bangladesh comprises two Tests, three One-Day Internationals, and one 20/20 International.
The first Test begins on Thursday at the St Vincent’s Arnos Vale Sports Complex.
