West Indies names squad for first Test
Four Jamaicans have been named in West Indies 13-member squad for the first Test against Bangladesh, starting on Thursday at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex in St Vincent.
The Jamaicans are captain Chris Gayle, Australian-born Brendan Nash and fast bowlers Andrew Richardson and Jerome Taylor.
The 27-year-old Richardson has earned a recall to the squad after he traveled with the West Indies team to England earlier this year. He is yet to play a Test.
The squad also includes Trinidadians Adrian Barath, Ravi Rampaul, vice captain Denesh Ramdin and Dwayne Bravo.
Other members of the squad are Sulieman Benn, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Runako Morton and Ramnaresh Sarwan.
The series comprises two Tests, three One-Day Internationals, and one Twenty/Twenty International.
The first Test begins on Thursday at the St Vincent’s Arnos Vale Sports Complex.
