Jamaica ends opening day in sixth position
Jamaica ended yesterday’s opening day of the three-day Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championship in sixth position.
The Championship is being played at the Cinnamon Hill Golf Course in Montego Bay.
The Jamaicans have so far tallied 28 points after posting some ordinary scores.
Of the 14 Jamaican players only two posted scores in the 70s, Jonathan Newnham had 78 in the 14-to-15 age group and Robert Grant posted 79 in the 16-to-17 age group.
The best female score came from Vittoria Marley who shot 84.
Trinidad and Tobago posted the best score on day one with 73 from Hose Hernandez.
However, reigning champions Puerto Rico take the early lead in the team point standings with 53 points ahead of T&T with 43 points. The Dominican Republic are in third place with 38 points.
