Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz are now in danger of missing out on a place in the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup after going down 1-0 to Costa Rico last night at the Crew Stadium in Columbus, USA.

Celso Borges scored the lone goal in the 64th minute.

It was Jamaica’s second defeat from two matches in Group ‘A’ of the preliminary round of the competition.

As a result of the latest defeat the Reggae Boyz are all but out of contention of booking an automatic spot in the quarterfinals.

The 12-nation tournament includes three groups and the top two from each group plus the two best third place teams will qualify for the quarterfinals.

Jamaica at the bottom of Group ‘A’ without a point will need to win their final preliminary round game against El Salvador on Friday and hope to qualify as one of the best third place team.
