The opposition Dominica Freedom Party (DFP) has announced plans to launch a multi-million dollar economic revitalisation plan to help stimulate the local economy.
DFP leader Judith Pestaina says the main elements of the plan include a youth empowerment scheme, the establishment of an agro-processing facility, and the continuation of research in geothermal energy.
She adds that the plan will create more than 5,000 jobs over the next five years.
The opposition’s plan comes amid speculation of a possible election.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has hinted that he could soon call a general election.
