The final preliminary Group ‘A’ games in the CONCACAF Gold Cup football tournament in the United States take place today with Jamaica’s Reggae Boys facing a must-win situation.

Jamaica, currently at the bottom of the standings without a point from two games, will tackle second place El Salvador in the second match of a double-header at Florida International University.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 8 o’clock this evening Jamaica time. The first encounter will feature leaders Canada against third place Costa Rica.

Canada lead the group with nine points, followed by El Salvador and Costa Rico on three points each and Jamaica on zero.

The 12-nation tournament includes three groups with four teams each and the top two countries from each zone are guaranteed a spot in the quarterfinals that will include eight teams.

The other two spots will go to the two top third-place teams.

A win for Jamaica over El Salvador would lift them to three points, which automatically places them in contention for a third-place spot.
