G8 leaders to boost food supplies

Leaders of the G8 group of developed nations have pledged US$20 Billion to boost food supplies to needy countries.
The investment will fund a three-year initiative to help poor nations develop their agriculture.
The move comes on the final day of a summit in Italy today.
US President Barack Obama, who led the talks, said America will contribute some US$3.5 Billion to the programme.
The president of the International Fund for Agricultural Development, Kanaya Nwanze has welcomed the announcement of more investment in agriculture in the developing world.
