A release from the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), says the West Indies team for the Champions Trophy in South Africa starting in September will be selected from the current squad participating in the series against Bangladesh.
The WICB also says there will be a pool of approximately 29 contracted players from which to draw for the Board’s future tour commitments.
West Indies first choice players are on strike over a contractual dispute with the WICB.
WICB president Julian Hunte says the board has been trying to negotiate with the West Indies Players Association (WIPA) without success.
