Bangladesh against West Indies continues
The opening cricket Test between hosts West Indies and Bangladesh at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex in St Vincent is interestingly poised entering today’s last day.
After trailing by 69 runs on first innings, the visitors will resume today on 321 for five, an overall lead of 252 runs.
Shakib Al Hasan on 26 and Mushfiqur Rahim on 28 are the batsmen at the crease.
Yesterday’s penultimate day was highlighted by a maiden test hundred by Tamim Iqbal after Bangladesh resumed on 26 without loss.
Iqbal scored 128 off 243 balls before he was caught by Travis Dowlin attempting to pull a delivery from seamer David Bernard.
Junaid Siddique supported with 78 before he lost his wicket to medium pacer Darren Sammy who had him caught by Dale Richards.
Sammy led the West Indies bowling with two for 53 off 23 overs.
Kemar Roach, Ryan Austin and Bernard chipped in with a wicket apiece.
Scores in the game are, Bangladesh 238 and 321 for five, West Indies 307.
West Indies are being represented by a replacement team as regular team members are on strike over a contractual dispute with the West Indies Cricket Board.
WICB backs replacement team
A release from the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), says the West Indies team for the Champions Trophy in South Africa starting in September will be selected from the current squad participating in the series against Bangladesh.
