Jamaica Veronica Campbell Brown wins in Athens

Beijing Olympics gold medallist Veronica Campbell-Brown of Jamaica cruised to victory at the Tsiklitiria Athens Grand Prix track meet in Athens, Greece today.
Campbell-Brown, the women’s 200 Olympic champion, raced in the 100 at the meet and won in 10.96, 0.06 seconds faster than Carmelita Jeter of the United States.
Simone Facey of Jamaica ended fifth in 11.28.
There were two other victories for Jamaica at the meet.
Isa Phillips clocked 48.09 seconds to win the men’s 400-metre hurdles, the season’s third-fastest performance and Novlene Williams-Mills won the women’s 400 metres in 50.05. Shereefa Lloyd of Jamaica finished sixth in 51.60.
