JAAA selects 46 member team for World Champs

The Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association (JAAA) has named a 46-member squad for the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics, which is scheduled for Berlin, Germany from August 15 to 23.



The four individual gold medallists from last summer’s Beijing Olympics head the team.



They are Beijing Olympic triple gold medallist Usain Bolt, Shelly-Ann Fraser, Veronica Campbell-Brown and Melanie Walker.



Bolt set world records in winning the 100-metre gold in 9.69 seconds and the 200-metre title in 19.30 and then helped Jamaica to a world record run in the 4 x 100-metre relay.



Also included are Beijing Olympic double medallist Kerron Stewart, Beijing Olympic silver medallist Shericka Williams, Isa Phillips, Danny McFarlane, Novlene Williams-Mills, Brigitte Foster-Hylton, Delloreen Ennis-London and Rosemarie Whyte.
