Grenada denies seeking funds from IMF

The Grenada government is denying media reports that it’s seeking funds from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to survive the economic crisis.
However, the government says it would continue to work with the IMF to meet the terms of the Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility.
The facility is the IMF’s low-interest lending facility for low-income countries.
It was earlier reported that Grenada had written a letter of intent to the IMF requesting assistance.
However, the government says that letter has been misinterpreted.
Officials say the request was made for a disbursement of funds already agreed to under the terms of the current Poverty Reduction programme.
