The West Indies Under 19 team was booted out of the Youth World Cup championship race in Malaysia today when India beat them by 50 runs.
The Group ‘B’ match was played at the Kinrara Academy Oval.
The result confirmed South Africa as the team advancing with India to the quarterfinals. It condemned the Caribbean side to playing in the consolation event.
During the match Virat Kohli hit an even 100, which spurred India to 265 for five off its allotted 50 overs.
The young West Indies team was bowled out for 215 in the 48th over. Darren Bravo, the brother of West Indies Vice-Captain Dwayne, top-scored with 43.
