PAM wants election date

The main opposition People’s Action Movement (PAM) in St Kitts and Nevis is putting pressure on Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas to announce the date for general elections.
The call is being made a day after a High Court judge removed himself from hearing arguments by the opposition party to prevent the Electoral Commission from implementing new constituency boundaries.
But PAM leader Lindsay Grant said while the injunction constrains electoral officials from conducting an election on the new boundary changes, the party still wants the prime minister to name the date for the polls.
Mr Grant also says he’s confident that no changes can be made to the electoral boundaries until the matter is concluded in the courts.
